Your next move

Before you buy more house, work out what is actually missing.

More space can help. So can a better layout, another bathroom or one room that finally does the job you need. The right answer starts with the daily frustration, not the next listing.

Take a closer look ↓

Write down the friction.

Describe what happens, not just the room you think you need. A kitchen can feel small because of storage, circulation or the number of people using it at once. Those are different problems.

Share only what is useful and comfortable for you. Practical space requirements are enough to begin.

Compare a fix, a renovation and a move.

Ask qualified trades or a designer for realistic renovation scope, feasibility and cost. Separately estimate selling, buying, moving and the new ongoing housing cost.

Do not compare a renovation quote with only the down payment on another home. Compare the complete commitments, including disruption, time and contingency.

Choose what improves the day.

Test the proposed solution against the original problem. An extra room on the wrong floor may not solve it. A larger home much farther away may exchange one difficulty for another.

Once the brief is clear, the search becomes more selective. You are looking for a useful change, not simply a bigger number.
